Mr. Jenus S. “Sweet” Graham, Jr — 1957-2019

Mr. Jenus S. “Sweet” Graham, Jr. was born June 27, 1957, in Troup County to the parentage of the late Jenus(Sr.)and Gabrella (Gilliam) Graham. He departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, at East Alabama Medical Center-Lanier, Valley.

Jenus confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with the Bethlehem Baptist Church, West Point. 

He was a product of the West Point City School System. “Sweet,” as he was known, was a self-employed barber and a tremendous saxophonist. He played his instrument until failing health.  Jenus was a U.S. Army Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his first born, Jenus and three brothers.

Jenus lease to cherish his precious memories: three daughters, Jemunji Watkins, Jkosi Graham, West Point, and Jamiracle Graham, Valley; two sons, Jenus Stephens Graham, Valley and Jenus  Launziale Graham, West Point; six grandchildren; one brother, James Rufus Graham, Valley; five sisters, Ruby Rainey, Bettye Alexander, Estella Scroggins, Ann Weston and Nan Barber all of West Point; three aunts,  Jewel Ann Brown, Valley, Bessie Billingslea, Dorothy Gilliam, West Point; two uncles, Tommy Gilliam and his caregiver, Wilburn Gilliam, both of West Point, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Graham will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Dr. W. T. Edmondson, Pastor, the Rev. Adrian Frazier, Eulogist and Overseer G. L. Fanning, assisting.  Interment will follow in the Ft. Tyler Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church on Friday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Public viewing will be on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019, from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
