Ms. Mattie Pearl Gates, 63 of LaFayette, passed away on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019 at LaFayette Nursing Home in LaFayette.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019, 2 p.m. CST at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in LaFayette. The Rev. Melvin Owens will be the pastor and officiant. Burial will follow in Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in LaFayette.

Ms. Gates is survived by her daughter, Felecia L. Brock (Danny) of LaFayette; her mother, Jessie B. Gates of White Plians; her granddaughter, Daniyah L. Brock; her sister, Ethel L. (Charles) King, of LaFayette; two brothers, Jessie J. Gates of White Plains, and Harrison Gates of Talladega; one aunt, Mary Chambers of Dawson, Georgia; a special friend, William Ballard, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
