Charlotte Brooks, 60, of LaFayette, Alabama died Monday Jan. 27, 2020, at her residence.

Brooks was born in Chambers County, August 14, 1959 to the late Charles Carroll and the late Patricia Cook Carroll. She was a member of the Happy Valley Baptist Church, and was employed with the Valley Times News from 1980 until 2017, and fought a courageous battle with ovarian cancer from 2008 until her death.

Memorial services will be held Friday January 31, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette with the Rev. Rusty Letson officiating.

She is survived by her husband Neal Brooks of LaFayette, daughter Katie Brooks of LaFayette, son Christopher (Britta) Brooks of Dallas, sister Loretta (Buddy) Cofield of Beulah, grandchildren Aubry & Gabriel Brooks, sister-in-law Judy (Troy) Guthrie of Jacksonville, Florida, brother-in-law Wayne Brooks of Jacksonville, Florida, nephews David (Meagan) Cauley of Walnut Hill, Florida, Dylan Cauley of Valle, Special Friends Kathy (Larry) Reeves of LaFayette, and Martha Milner of Valley, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Lou and William Cook and grandparents Leonard and Madell Carroll.
