Mrs. Charlotte Carroll Brooks, 60 of LaFayette died Monday Jan. 27, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Brooks was born in Chambers County, Aug. 14, 1959, to the late Charles Carroll and the late Patricia Cook Carroll, she was a member of the Happy Valley Baptist Church.

She was employed with the Valley Times-News from 1980 until 2017. She fought a courageous battle with ovarian cancer from 2008 until her death.

Memorial services will be held Friday Jan. 31, 2020, at 10 a.m. (CST) at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette with the Rev. Rusty Letson officiating.

She is survived by her husband, Neal Brooks of LaFayette, daughter, Katie Brooks of LaFayette, son, Christopher (Britta) Brooks of Dallas, Texas., sister, Loretta (Buddy) Cofield of Beulah., grandchildren, Aubrey & Gabriel Brooks, sister-in-law, Judy (Troy) Guthrie of Jacksonville, Florida., brother-in-law, Wayne Brooks of Jacksonville, Florida., nephews, David (Meagan) Cauley of Walnut Hill, Florida. and Dylan Cauley of Valley., special friends, Kathy (Larry) Reeves of LaFayette., and Martha Milner of Valley, Al., aunts, uncles and cousins.
