Dorothy D. Wallace peacefully went to her Lord on Jan. 13, with her family in Brooks, Georgia. She was born in LaGrange to Edmond Thomas Daniel and Wilma Hamrick Daniel. She was married to Jesse D. Wallace Jr. and resided for many years in West Point, Georgia/Lanett, Alabama.

Dorothy was retired but had worked most of her life in the health care industry as a Certified Medical Laboratory Technologist, specializing in blood banking.

She worked at many of the local hospitals, including the old West Point Hospital, City County Hospital in LaGrange, and Lanier Memorial Hospital, as well as University Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

She was a graduate of West Point High School and Auburn University, even teaching medical laboratory technology at Auburn University for a brief period of time.

She was a devoted Christian and a member of the First Christian Church in Lanett, Alabama.

Dorothy was a devoted and caring mother of two children, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and will be missed by all.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Beverly Boyd (Bill) of Montgomery, Alabama, and Jesse D. Wallace III (Colleen) of Brooks, Georgia; grandchildren Jesse D. Wallace IV (Anna) of Brooks, Georgia; Elizabeth Haney (Rob) of Muncie, Indiana, and Jessamyn Rock (Bennett) of Manhattan, Kansas; two great-grandchildren, Theodore and Winston Rock of Manhattan, Kansas; brother John Daniel (Dorothy) of West Point; and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Jesse D. Wallace Jr. (spouse), Edmond T. Daniel and Wilma H. Daniel (parents), and Carolyn D. Hill (sister).

The family is planning a private graveside service at the Marseilles Cemetery in West Point, Georgia.
