Mr. John Floyd Meadors Jr.

John Floyd Meadors Jr., the father of four children, and also known as Papa to his seven grandchildren, passed away Dec. 31, 2019.

John was born on Nov. 29, 1942, in Jacksonville, Florida to John and Nola (Necaise) Meadors. He was a graduate of West Point High School, West Point, Georgia, and Spring Hill College in Mobile,  where he received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce Degree.

John served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and worked as an accountant with West Point Pepperell before joining the F.B.I. where he served for more than 20 years.

After retiring, John moved to West Point Lake where he enjoyed life on the lake. John loved fishing, hunting and boating with family and friends. He cherished moments with his children and grandchildren. John was an active member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. He was loved by many family members and friends and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents and spouse Patsy (Boyd) Meadors. Surviving relatives include children from his marriage to Peggy (Dunbar) Wilcox; Ashley Weathers and husband John, Carley Keiser and husband Luke, Blakely Robbins; one child from his marriage to Karen S. Meadors; Daniel Maxwell Meadors; and grandchildren, John Austin Weathers, Micayla Marie Weathers, Eric Reid Robbins, Blake Charles Robbins, Brighton Renee Keiser, Robert Landry Keiser and Ronan Lee Keiser.

On Sunday, Jan. 5, a viewing and Rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. EST, at Bluffton Funeral Services, 1011 N. Lanier Ave in Lanett.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, Jan. 6 at Holy Family Catholic Church at 12 noon EST in Lanett, followed by a graveside service at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point, Georgis.

Father Gali Bala will officiate. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a memorial donation please consider the Holy Family Catholic Church of West Point, Georgia.
