Mr. Wiley “Booney” Snell, age 65, the son of Leila Hizzie and the late Wiley Snell, Jr. was born July 9, 1954, in Chambers County. He departed this life on Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at Roosevelt Warm Springs Rehab and Specialty Hospital, Warm Springs, Georgia.

Mr. Snell received his education in the Chambers County Public School System. He was known to many as “Booney.” He was of the Baptist faith.

Wiley was preceded in death by his step-mother, Hazel Snell, and other siblings.

Mr. Snell leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Lizzie Huzzie, LaGrange, Georgia; three sisters, Emily Ann Watts, Lelia  (Paul) Evans both of Roanoke, and Sherry (Bobby) Moreland, LaGrange, Georgia; five brothers, Willie George Calloway, LeRoy Dean, both of LaGrange, Georgia, Donnie (Annie) Snell, Lanett, Eddie (Regina) Snell, Roanoke, and Curtis (Gwendolyn) Snell, West Point, Georgia; his dear and devoted companion, Sylvia Jenkins, West Point, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

A memorial dervice for Mr. Snell will be held on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at 1 p.m. in the M.W. Lee Mortuary Chapel.

The family is receiving visitors at the residence of Ms. Sylvia Jenkins, 705 Avenue J, West Point, Georgia 31833.
