Mrs. Doris D. Maddux, age 77, of Langdale passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Mrs. Maddux was born in Langdale, Alabama on Oct. 21, 1942, to the late Jessie M. Duffey and Nora Gilbert Duffey.

Mrs. Maddux was a member of the Langdale United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Rayford E. Maddux; daughter, Jane Maddux; son and his wife, Phillip Maddux and Teresa; granddaughter and her husband, Alyssa Steele and Max; great-grandson, Waylon Steele.

Mrs. Maddux worked at Lanier Hospital as a ward clerk for several years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, at 11 a.m. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley.

Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. EST until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in her name to the Langdale United Methodist Church Barrell of Love Fund.
