Forecasters say there is more rain headed our way and it’ll likely stick around for a few days.

While the most severe rainfall will be along the I-59 corridor, there is always the possibility the system will shift and turn its focus toward Chambers County.

“Friday is still going to be wet, we have a lingering system that is staying over us,” said Meteorologist-In-Charge Chris Darden of the National Weather Service Birmingham.

More than an inch of rain was expected to fall in Chambers County on Thursday and Friday combined.

However, the good news is that rain should begin to taper off late Friday night with Saturday being a little cool, but staying dry with temperatures in the 50s in Chambers County.

Looking forward to next week, Darden said the forecast looks a little unsettled right now, but not a complete wash out.

“Sunday/Monday are probably going to be dry actually and then we got another system moving in maybe Monday/Tuesday,” Darden said.
