Domestic disturbance ends with one dead from apparent self-inflicted injury

The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a domestic disturbance that ended with one person dying from an apparent self-inflicted injury.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, at around 7 p.m. Saturday deputies responded to a residence on County Road 266 in reference to a domestic violence altercation. Deputies made contact with a female, who appeared to be suffering from injuries from the altercation.

Deputies also attempted to make contact with the male involved in the altercation, but they were unable to do so. Eventually, the Chambers County Multi-Jurisdictional SWAT team made entry into the residence and located the male, who appeared to be suffering from a self-inflicted injury, according to the press release.

Lanett EMS and Chambers County Coroner Jeff Jones responded to the scene and determined the male subject was deceased. The deceased male’s name has not been released.
