Mrs. Lucille McCullars, age 90, of Lanett passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2nd, 2020, at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home in Valley.

Mrs. McCullars was born in Lanett, Alabama on April 20, 1929, to the late A.F. Mayo and Ella Redmond Mayo.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. B. McCullars and a sister, Effie Lee Hawkins.

She graduated from Lanett High School Class of 1945 and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lanett.

She was employed by the City of Lanett as a dispatcher for the police department and later as an administrative secretary to the City Manager, Charles Jennings.

She enjoyed playing the piano and played the organ for Holy Family Catholic Church for many years.

She is survived by daughters, Maria DeLeon, Lisa (Jimmy) Walls; sister, Ella Arrington; grandchildren, Maria Miles, Laura Pemberton, Tina Walls, Zak DeLeon; great-grandchildren, Rocky, Waylon, Halona, Christian, Megan, and Ashlyn.

The funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 705 North 3rd Avenue, Lanett, Alabama 36863 on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020 at 11 a.m. EST with Father Gali Balaswamy officiating. 

The wake will be held at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. EST until 8 p.m. EST with the Rosary prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. EST.  The committal service will be private.
