The H. Grady Bradshaw Library, Cobb Memorial Archives and LaFayette Library are closed indefinitely in response to the coronavirus.

Library Director Mary Hamilton sent out the information in a press release Sunday morning.

“To safeguard the health of our patrons and staff, the H. Grady Bradshaw Library, Cobb Memorial Archives and the LaFayette Library will be closed effective at 2 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, March 16, 2020, until further notice. Updates will be posted here and on our Facebook page,” Hamilton said. “Our library welcomes scores of people every day, and we take the health of each and every one of these visitors very seriously.”

Hamilton said the library is a fine free library, so if you have materials checked out do not return them until the library reopens. The book drop will not be available while the library is closed.

“If you have a library card, you may want to check out ebooks, watch a movie via our streaming service, or take one of over 500 online classes,” Hamilton said. “Visit our webpage at chamberscountylibrary.org to access these services with your library card.”

Hamilton said free WiFI will be available in the library’s parking lots, and any questions can be emailed to askus@chamberscountylibrary.org.
