Limited details have been released about a shooting that occurred in Lanett over the weekend.

On Sunday at approximately 10:20 a.m., the Lanett Police Department was dispatched to the 800 block of 19th Street SW in reference to a gunshot wound. According to a LPD press release, the 27-year-old male victim was transported by Lanett EMS and then airlifted to a trauma center.

Sgt. Robert Waldrop said the victim’s injuries were “potentially life-threatening.”
