Mr. Rayford Edgar Maddux passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020.

Rayford was born October 3, 1930, in the Double Head community of Chambers County. He spent most of his adult life in the Valley area and was employed with West Point Pepperell and retired from Lanier Memorial Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Maddux; parents, Ray Edgar Maddux and Mary Exa Maddux; 11 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his children Jane Maddux, Phillip Maddux (Teresa); one granddaughter, Alyssa Steele (Max); one great-grandson, (Waylon); one brother, Percy Maddux; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Sat., March 14, 2020, at 12:00 noon EDT at the Calvary Baptist Church in Huguley with interment following in the adjoining cemetery.  His family will be receiving friends at the church from 11:00 A.M. EDT until the service hour.
