Ms. Doris Buchanan Haynes

Doris Buchanan Haynes, age 89, of Huguley passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at her residence. She was born on May 4, 1930, in LaGrange, Georgia to the late John Lesley Buchanan and Lois Lee Duke Buchanan.

Mrs. Haynes is survived by her daughter, Leigh (Jonathan) Howell; grandchildren, Carlen Howell and David Howell; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Haynes; son, Lesley Haynes.

Mrs. Haynes was a faithful member of Pine Forest Congregational Church in Valley for 52 years.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #67.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and watching westerns. She was an avid Alabama fan.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 10th, 2020, at noon EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow at Friendship Christian Church Cemetery in Roanoke, Alabama. The Rev. Derrick Rutledge will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 11 a.m. EDT until the service hour at the funeral home.
