Mrs. Carolyn Ann Smallwood Thomaston, age 86, of Valley passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Diversicare of Lanett. She was born on September 21, 1933 in Lanett to the late Posey and Willie Bob Smallwood.

Thomaston is survived by her husband of 63 years, William Thomaston; children, LuAnn (Darryl) Sims, Melinda (Terry) Hadaway, and Steve (Kim) Thomaston; siblings, Jeanice Robinson; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles “Bobby” Smallwood.

Thomaston was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawmut and she also attended Fairfax United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crafting, cooking, and spending time with her family. She loved to recite Bible verses to her friends and family.

Due to gathering restrictions, services will be private.
