Ms. Bettye Jean Shaver, 77 of LaFayette, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020.

A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, 1 p.m. CST at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in LaFayette. Pastor Cecelia Broome is officiating.

Shaver is survived by two sons, Darrel Shaver of Roanoke and Keith Shaver of Five Points; one daughter, Gwendolyn Sha Shaver of LaFayette;  one grandson, Keon Ray of LaFayette; two granddaughters, Shambriel Shaver of LaFayette and Cyneldra Busby of Valley; one great-grandson, Drevion Gilbert of Valley; one brother, Charlie Mark Patterson of LaGrange, Georgia; one sister, Juanita Persons(Rufus) of LaGrange, Georgia; her loving pet, Harmony; nieces, Patricia Baker and Tiffany Persons; nephews, Willie Baker and Jeffrey Baker, many other great nieces and nephews; also her friends, Myrtis Ware, Annie Bledsoe and Teresa Billingslea, all of Five Points.

A public celebration of life will be held at a later date.
