The death of George Floyd was uncalled for and is unacceptable.
The officer who murdered Mr. Floyd and those officers who stood by and did nothing should be punished to the full extent of the law. Their behavior left all of us shocked and upset. There is no way anyone can defend this type of behavior.
George Floyd should be alive today, his life was taken for no reason.
I want to assure our community that we do not tolerate the brutal behavior that took place in Minneapolis.
We must ALL have respect for each other as human beings.
There has to be honest conversation, transparency, cultural shift, and action to make changes.
As officers we must hold each other accountable. Also, we must continue to work hard to earn the communities trust.
While policing is the focus, community members and elected officials must realize they play a role in moving efforts forward.
We must be willing to listen and discuss policing and find solutions.
We have to work together to keep our communities safe, and know that we have officers that have dedicated their lives to protecting this community.
