Hospitalizations of patients with a positive case of COVID-19 at EAMC and EAMC-Lanier are at its lowest point since May 28, but hospital officials warn this could be the calm before another storm.
Calls to 528-SICK have risen sharply in the past week, as have tests and confirmed cases in Lee and Chambers counties. That could mean an increase in hospitalizations in the next 10-14 days.
With more cases in the community, EAMC physicians are reminding the public to wear a mask when in public, especially when six feet of distance cannot be guaranteed between individuals.
Of course, the better solution is to either stay home when possible and to avoid gatherings—especially large gatherings—with people outside of your household.
