Oaks Farm is hosting a breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. CT. The family-friendly event will be held outside at the LaFayette farm located at 18151 Veterans Parkway.

“We wanted to bring something to the community over in LaFayette and Chambers [County] that you know the families can attend and get their pictures made with Santa, and just make those memories with the kids that morning,” said Heather “Jersey” Weldon, co-owner of the farm.

Attendees can expect a buffet of hot breakfast foods. Weldon, who co-owns Oaks Farm with her husband Jeremy, said family and friends will come by to help them cook the feast on Saturday. They plan to have a continuous supply of eggs, sausages, bacon, mini pancakes, and French toast.

They did host the event last year, with a good turnout. This year, Santa will be outside for what Weldon called more of a “country Christmas.” Santa and his friends will be under large tents in case of rain. Food will be inside.

Supershots Photography is Valley will be taking the photos with Santa and Rudolph. The company sends the portraits by email after the event. There will also be an arts and crafts activity and a coloring corner, with Christmas-themed coloring pages for the children. Weldon says this year, Jackie of All Trades is going to be doing face painting also.

The event is drop-in, families can come anytime between 9 and 12 a.m. CT. Tickets are bought at the door at $15 for adults, and $10 for kids although kids under two attend for free. All the activities and food are covered by the ticket price.

Weldon says the farm enjoys doing the seasonal event. They did ‘Brunch with the Easter Bunny’ for Easter and a large Fall Festival where local vendors could set up stalls in October. She hopes to expand to other holidays and has already started brainstorming for Mother’s Day next year.
