Springwood drops second game in LaGrange Toyota Classic

Springwood struggled on the offensive side of the court for the second straight night as the Wildcats lost to Mcintosh 56-41 in the LaGrange Toyota Classic. 

Springwood was able to keep it close for most of the game, but the Wildcats were never able to take control of the game. Springwood never led in the game. 

The halfcourt offense was an issue for the second straight night as the Wildcats struggled to find the bottom of the basket. Springwood finished the game connecting on just six of its 28 shots from behind the arc. The Wildcats finished with 17 turnovers in the game.

Mcintosh held just a four-point lead at halftime, but the Chiefs were able to build on the lead from that point. Mcintosh took an eight-point lead into the final period and outscored Springwood by seven to close out the game. 

Micah Thomas led the Wildcats with 12 points, four rebounds and one steal in the game. CJ Johnson followed Thomas with nine points and one steal. 

Crawford Fuller has been a key role player this season for the Wildcats. Fuller has spent time in the starting lineup after coming off the bench to start the season. Fuller is Springwood’s best rebounder, finishing with 10 rebounds on Friday night. 

Daniel Westbrook finished with six points, two rebounds and one steal. Greg Johnson added five points, four rebounds and one steal. 

The Wildcats have now lost back-to-back games after being on a nine-game winning streak. Springwood is currently 11-3 on the season.
The Wildcats are set to get back into area play as the team faces off with Lee-Scott Academy at home on Jan. 5.
