A new festival is coming to Valley. The Valley Local Inc., a local non-profit organization is hosting the Valley Local 2024 Festival, or ValleyFest. It will be March 23 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET at the Valley Sportsplex.

There is a $5 entrance fee and $5 parking for the event. However, children under five are admitted for free. Alcohol is available to those with wristbands and valid IDs. Cash is recommended for the fees, but Venmo and Cash App will be available as well. All the proceeds will be donated to the Chattahoochee Humane Society, the Circle of Care, the Kiwanis Club, and the City of Valley. 

The organization was started by Sara and CJ Crutchfiled as a Facebook page, meant to highlight local businesses. Then the couple and three others formed the non-profit. 

Sara wanted to especially thank the sponsors of the event, who are funding the event. 

“It honestly would not be possible without all of them,” Sara said.

CJ works in ticketing, and in their travels the two have been to many festivals, hosted by small towns. 

“Why are we not doing something like this? I want my kids to enjoy this in their hometown and so that’s when we started a nonprofit organization,” said Sara. 

So far, the festival has over 90 vendors and food trucks that will be spread throughout Rams stadium and the parking lot on the day. Sara said the vendors range from arts and crafts, to authors doing book signings. 

Nine musical acts and one stand-up comedian will be performing on two stages. Chambley’s is planning on having a bow and arrow target game set up. There will be other gaming booths, including a golf simulator from Tee Time Golf Studios. 

The whole day will begin with a home run derby. Sara Crutchfield, organizer and co-founder of The Valley Local Inc., hopes to have multiple age groups sign up for the derby. Sign-up for the event is open until Feb. 29. Rewards will be given to the top three contestants. Proceeds from the derby will go to the Valley Parks & Recreation Department.

“I would love for [Valley Fest] to be an annual event for our community. So come out and support it so that way it can be something that comes back in the future,” Sara said.
