Thursday afternoon Beulah Fire Department C-Shift was dispatched to the 14000 block of Lee Road 379 for a reported brush fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found a total of five acres on fire that were split between two separate fires.

Firefighters encountered extremely rough terrain resulting in the majority of the fire being inaccessible by vehicle, according to a BFD press release.

Firefighters worked for three hours to contain the fire using multiple different hand tools.

The fire was logged under control at 7:41 p.m., and no injuries were reported on the scene.

Beulah Fire Department responded with four apparatus and four personnel. Smiths Station Fire & Rescue also responded to the scene for assistance.

The fire is suspected to be unrelated to the controlled burn going on in a private property area between Lee Road 379 and Lee Road 334, according to BFD.

BFD suspected another landowner may have been doing a controlled burn of their own that got out of hand.
