After 15 years in law enforcement, Captain Robert Chambers was honored for his years of service to the county during the Chambers County Commission meeting.

Chambers has trained many officers and dedicated himself to imparting his expertise to the county over the years, according to Chambers County Sheriff Jeff Nelson.

“He has the skills, the knowledge and the manner of professionalism unheard of to this day. He is probably one of the greatest assets that the sheriff and the county have,” Nelson said.

Chambers has served as the captain of the Chambers County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force since it began. Nelson commended him for his dedication to getting illicit drugs off the streets.

“He’s constantly out here battling our drug dealers that are bringing illicit drugs and other things into our county. But not only is he just working the drugs, he’s doing everything else too,” Nelson said.

Chambers has also helped the sheriff’s office handle burglary cases and other non-drug-related crimes including a recent bank robbery, according to the sheriff.

“Thank you so much for coming to us, and sharing your knowledge and your skills with us. I truly appreciate you,” Nelson said.
