The Chambers County School District’s JROTC Cadets soared to new heights on March 22 during a Blackhawk Helicopter experience at Fort Novosel (formerly Fort Rucker) on the U.S. Army base located in Dale County, Alabama.

The event was organized by Retired Army Major Brett Wiersma, the Senior Army Instructor for the CCSD’s JROTC program. According to the press release, it was an exhilarating flight journey for all of the cadets that flew in the UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter.

The flight experience provided the cadets with invaluable insight into both aviation and military operations for the U.S. Army.  Cadets saw firsthand the agility and precision of the Blackhawk’s capabilities under the guidance of seasoned military pilots.

These experiences will enhance the values of service, discipline and excellence that JROTC instructors are developing in cadets in Chambers County, according to the press release.

The school district posted a short video documenting the flight experience on the Inspire Academy YouTube page.
