Weather causes cancellations for local sports

Local weather has once again had a major impact on sports in the county as every local team called off its game on Tuesday. 

 

Baseball and Softball:

Chambers Academy’s baseball and softball programs were forced to reschedule their games against Coosa Valey Academy on Tuesday due to weather and field conditions. 

Both teams will face off against Coosa Valley on Wednesday at home. The Lady Rebels will play a doubleheader against Coosa Valley, and the team has also added a home game against Ezekiel on Thursday. 

Beulah’s baseball team’s game on the road against Reeltown was also canceled due to the weather. 

Lanett’s baseball team was scheduled to play Booker T. Washington High School in a doubleheader at home on Tuesday The games have now been rescheduled to April 8. 

 

Soccer: 

Valley’s girls and boys home soccer matches against Beauregard on Tuesday have been rescheduled to March 11. 

Springwood’s girls and boys soccer teams’ matches against Lafayette Christian School on Monday have been postponed to a later date.
