A local sports announcer was arrested Friday after a two-year investigation.

Marvin Pierce Turner, 71, was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in (methamphetamine), unlawful distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.

Agents of the Chambers County Drug Task Force/Alabama Drug Enforcement Drug Task Force (Region D) and the Lanett Police Department executed a search warrant at Turner’s residence,  410 North 14th Street in Lanett, Alabama.

Currency was also seized, but the amount was undisclosed.
