The Lady Bobcats have had an up-and-down season, but Beulah has found momentum late in the season and carried that into an 8-3 win over Dadeville on Wednesday to win the 3A-Area 7 regular season championship.

The Bobcats got it started early against the Tigers as Abrianna Green and Elizabeth Hancock scored in the bottom of the first inning. Madyson Snedigar then drove in Kyleigh Morgan with a single to give the Bobcats a 3-0 lead.

The bottom of the first inning continued to be a fruitful half-inning for Beulah. Presley Duck drove in the fourth run of the game with a single before Libby Buchanan scored on a passed ball. Duck then scored after a groundout from Claire Dubose. Green ripped a double over the third baseman to score Clara Burk to cap off the inning and give Beulah a 7-0 lead.

Buchanan gave Beulah its last run of the game as her sacrifice fly scored Morgan in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Dadeville produced a late rally in the top of the seventh inning as the Tigers scored a run on a sacrifice fly before scoring two more on a one-out single. Beulah snuffed out the rally quickly, forcing a line out and a pop out to end the game.

Snedigar and Duck led the Bobcats at the plate as they each finished with two hits and one RBI. Duck also scored a run.

Snedigar got the start in the circle for Beulah and was stellar in four innings of work. Snedigar allowed just two hits and one walk and struck out five batters.

The Lady Bobcats used Kenly Yeager and Maci Wingo in relief. Yeager pitched two innings, allowing three hits, one earned run and two walks. Wingo closed the game and allowed just two hits and one earned run in one inning of work.

The Lady Bobcats are now 10-12 on the season and will host the area tournament against Dadeville and Randolph County after Beulah wraps up their regular season on April 25.
