The Lady Rams were back in action on Monday night at home to face a tough Beauregard team. The Hornets got out in front early and came away with a 22-3 win over Valley.

The top of the first inning proved to be disastrous for the Lady Rams. Beauregard jumped out to a 3-0 lead early with a three-run home run. Nine walks, two errors and nine hits led to the Hornets taking a 17-0 lead before Valley had its first chance at the plate.

The half-inning lasted over 40 minutes, and the Rams had to use two pitchers. Reese Riley started in the circle and allowed six earned runs on five hits and two walks before being pulled after recording just one out. Payson Meadows replaced Riley and pitched 1 ⅔ innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits and 10 walks.

Valley found a ray of hope in the bottom of the first inning as senior Nevaeh Crane legged out a triple with two outs. The Hornets were able to work out of trouble, and the Rams came away with no runs in the inning.

Beauregard added four more runs in the top of the second inning. Addison Lee got Valley on the board in the bottom of the second inning as she drove in a run with a single.

The Hornets added one last run in the top of the third inning before the Lady Rams had their best offensive half in the bottom of the third. The Lady Rams opened the inning with two singles. Amari Lowe then scored on a passed ball before Alyssa Letson scored after a ground out. The game ended after the bottom of the third inning due to the mercy rule.

Letson finished off the game for Valley, allowing one hit and one earned run in one inning.

The loss dropped Valley to 3-16 on the season. The Lady Rams have a busy week ahead as they face Reeltown for senior night before facing off in two more matchups later in the week and traveling to Beulah for a tournament on Saturday.
