The city of Valley will be welcoming a new Chick-fil-A location according to a press release from the Chambers County Development Authority (CCDA). The restaurant will be located at the intersection of US Highway 29 and 33rd Street.

“Construction will start very soon,” said Chris Busby, executive director of the CCDA, in a statement to the Valley Times-News.

Although Busby could not provide an opening date yet, he said the project is a collaboration between the Chambers County Development Authority, the City of Valley, New Urban  Development, LLC., and Chick-fil-A, Inc. which has been in the works for years.

The deal began to get traction in the fall of 2022.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for the City of Valley,” Mayor Leonard Riley said in the press release. “Having a community-oriented business such as Chick-fil-A is impactful in so many ways. Not only will our citizens greatly benefit from this, but also our economy. This project has been years in the making.  We are thankful for all the hard-working individuals that helped make this happen and to Chick-fil-A  for choosing Valley.”

“A lot of time and energy went into bringing this project to fruition,” Busby said in the press release. “Chick-fil-A has long been a retail target for the CCDA and to see a restaurant come to  Chambers County is a testament to the hard work of our team.”

According to the CCDA press release, many county and city officials have been involved in the project, including Riley and the Valley Council, the city’s Planning and Development Department, utility partners at East Alabama Water, Sewer and Fire Protection District and Alabama Power, and Bradshaw Chambers County Library Director Mary Hamilton and their Board of Directors.

In the press release, Busby thanked the New Urban Development team for their efforts and desire to locate a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Valley.

Each Chick-fil-A restaurant is locally owned and operated, allowing owner/operators to serve as full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities. Once open, the new  Chick-fil-A restaurant will bring approximately 80-120 full and part-time jobs to the Valley community.

“We have been able to assist Chick-fil-A in the development of new restaurants in great markets such as Valley since 2017,” said New Urban Development Senior Development Manager Johnny  McCleskey. “This project has been in the works for well over a year, and we owe a great deal of gratitude to all parties involved to make this a reality. Specifically, we’d like to thank Chris Busby with the Development Authority and Mayor Riley for helping us get the project across the finish line. We know Valley will be a great location for Chick-fil-A to thrive, and it is always rewarding to see the  positive impact Chick-fil-A has on the communities they serve.”
