Brenda M. Barnes, a symbol of love and gentleness, left this world on May 18, 2024, at the age of 57, in the comforting surroundings of her hometown, Valley, Alabama. Born on August 17, 1966, in Montgomery, Alabama, Brenda’s life was a testament to the power of positivity and the strength of human connection.

From her early years at Valley Haven School, Brenda’s infectious smile and warm spirit touched the hearts of everyone she met. Brenda’s love for the school, its staff, and her friends was a radiant light that never dimmed.

Brenda was a member of Johnson Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed attending services there with her family.Family was the heart of Brenda’s world. She was a loving daughter to her mother, Mary Alice Barnes, and a cherished sister to Rickie L. Barnes (Cynthia), Jerry W. Barnes, Ronald F. Barnes, and Dianne Barnes Brewer (Jamie). Brenda’s nieces and nephews were graced with her unconditional love, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her father, Ronnie W. Barnes, and her grandparents, William Barnes and Daisy Barnes, as well as Alton and Ilene Eastridge, who preceded her in death, were undoubtedly proud of the remarkable woman she became.

Brenda’s interests were simple yet profound. Her love for television, particularly shows featuring the timeless charm of Mickey Mouse, was a source of comfort and happiness. It was in these moments of leisure that Brenda’s friendly nature and loving heart were most evident, as she shared her joy with those around her.

Funeral services for Brenda will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 at 2:30 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley.  Interment will follow in Johnson Memorial Gardens.  Her family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
