She graduated from West Point High School and Agnes Scott College, Decatur, Georgia with a Fine Arts degree. Marianne and Kap Duncan married in 1956 and moved to West Point the next year where Kap joined her father in business at Quality Shoe Store.      Marianne had a lifelong pursuit of “creating” and until the last few weeks insisted on staying busy. She enjoyed decorating, flower arranging, sewing, cooking, drawing and anything that allowed her to express her creative spirit. Marianne also spent her lifetime writing and from this, published books on her Christian Faith.
