The two Johnsons, CJ and Greg, continue to impress for Springwood both in receiving and running.

It was CJ that got the scoring started in the first half, punching in a short run as well as running a wildcat 2-point conversion for the first 8 points of the game.

Lighthouse came back with a 45-yard rush downfield then a touchdown.

Then Greg came.

The wide receiver made multiple catches on the drive, with impressive runs to get the ball down to the 8-yard line. CJ took it the rest of the way.

The play of the game, however, was by neither of the Johnsons.

To preface, Lighthouse was stopped on 3 and short by Tucker Sides. After a punt return to the 50 by another bright spot, Clarence Moore, Sides lined up as Guard for the Wildcat offense. Turns out the Defensive End is also an offensive threat.

A tipped pass by CJ was snatched by the lineman. Sides powered down the field within yards of a touchdown before being taken down. Sides, along with CJ and Greg are all captains, showing their worth on Friday.

Quarterback Wesley Carden seemed to connect with receivers well. An interception with five minutes to go in the first half seems to put a damper on things.

On the next drive, he would throw a touchdown pass. The drive after Carden threw long to Moore for 30 yards. Another passing touchdown to CJ would make it 38-14 at halftime.

Lighthouse would only come within 10 points in the third, scoring two back-to-back TDs to make it 28-38.

Springwood took offense to that. The Wildcats rushed for another TD in the third and added two more for fun in the fourth. The final score was 58-28.
