LaFAYETTE — Five people were arrested in Chambers County on Monday. According to Chambers County Sheriff’s Office reports,

Dylan Lee Beck, 26, of Five Points has been charged with failure to pay child support;

Latasha Raquel Hall, 30, of Tuskegee has been charged with trafficking marijuana;

Charles Xavier Smith, 29, of Tuskegee has been charged with trafficking marijuana;

Timothy Ryan James, 28, of Lanett has been charged with criminal littering, and

Kaycee Marie Gurley, 21, of Wadley has been charged with failure to appear in court to answer a charge of driving without a license.

There were 173 inmates in the Chambers County Jail on Tuesday morning.

VALLEY — Four people were arrested in Valley on Monday. According to Valley Police Department reports,

Marcus Shurum, 37, of Valley has been charged with domestic violence – harassment and strangulation;

Lindsey Tweet, 35, of Valley has been charged with resisting arrest and obstructing a government operation;

Jamie Hillman, 23, of Valley has been charged with harassment, and a juvenile has been charged with a probation violation and carrying a concealed weapon.

In incidents being investigated by Valley officers, cruelty to animals was reported on the 3000 block of Hopewell Road, criminal tampering was reported on the 400 block of LaFayette Street, domestic violence – criminal mischief, third degree, was reported on the 5700 block of 24th Avenue, theft of property, third degree, was reported on the 1300 block of County Road 196, burglary, third degree, and theft of property, second degree, was reported on the 6400 block of Cleveland Road.

LANETT — One person was arrested in Lanett on Monday. According to Lanett Police Department reports,

Zari Sarobi Askew, 20, of LaGrange, has been charged with four counts FTA – traffic.

In incidents being investigated by Lanett officers, robbery, first degree, and theft of property, first degree, was reported on the 2300 block of South Broad Avenue, criminal trespassing, first degree, was reported on the 700 block of North 14th Court, harassing communications was reported on the 1000 block of East 1st Avenue, criminal mischief, third degree, was reported on the 1100 block of South 5th Street, harassment was reported on the 300 block of South 3rd Avenue and theft of property, fourth degree, was reported on the 400 block of North Gilmer Avenue.

Lindwand Scott, 62, has been charged with permitting dogs to run at large.

In incidents being investigated by LaFayette officers, property damage was reported on LaFayette Street North, criminal trespassing was reported on 1st Avenue NW, domestic violence, second degree, was reported on 4th Place NE, criminal mischief, third degree, was reported at the Jenkins Apartments, menacing was reported on 2nd Place NE and harassment reported on 9th Avenue SW.
