VALLEY — Mr. Clarence L. Butts, 92, of Valley passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Funeral services will be held at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. EST on Saturday, January 20, 2018 with the Rev. Joshua Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfax Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. EST at the funeral home.

Mr. Butts is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris Sims Butts; six children, Shirley B. Maddux (Wayne). Peggy B. Kirkland, Kay Thomas (Ray), Willie J. Butts, Brenda B. Windsor (Richard) and Deborah Butts; 13 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Earnest Junior Butts.

Mr. Butts was born in Coffee County, Ala. and was known to his friends as “Dick Tracy.” He was of the Baptist faith.
